LVSA usually holds pistol oriented events over the course of the year. We hold NRA Basic Pistol courses, have egg shoots, competitive pistol shoots, and our always popular Walk Through the Woods Fun shoots.
When using our pistol range, shooters may utilize one of the 12 positions under the covered firing line. The target frames are designed to give the shooter flexibility in their desired distance up to 50 feet.
The pistol range is open from 8AM to dusk. Please check the web site and range bulletin board for range closings and special events.
Safety is always our primary concern on any Lebanon Valley Sportsmen range. Anyone acting in an unsafe manner will be subject to removal from the grounds and their membership can be revoked if they continue to display poor safety procedures. Always review the rules posted on the range each time you arrive.
The range is for members only unless we are hosting a special event that is open to the public.
Members must display their membership card while using the range. Unauthorized people using the range will be considered as trespassers.
A member may bring one guest. A guest may be asked to vacate their station for a member wishing to use the range.
While on the range: Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and keep the firearm unloaded until you are ready to shoot.
Please remember that Automatic weapons are not permitted on any LVSA range. We also request that members be respectful of the larger community and try to limit semi-automatic fire to short intervals.
No pistols exceeding a .45 magnum or pistols chambered with rifle calibers are allowed on this range. You may use the rifle range for these firearms. Shotguns are not permitted on the pistol range.
All firing shall be done under the enclosure in the designated stations. There will be no firing in front of the firing line.
Place balloons or paper targets on the 24”x 30” cardboard holders away from metal frames in such a manner that the bullets do not hit the supports. No incendiary targets or targets that leave debris are permitted.
Only one target frame shall be utilized at each station. Firing across shooting lanes is prohibited.
Please return cardboard target holders to the storage container when finished with the range, place unwanted casings in the buckets marked for this purpose, and place all trash in the receptacles.
Return the target frames under the roof just in front of your station.
Nobody shall handle a firearm while anyone is down range.
Always make safety your first priority when using the ranges at Lebanon Valley Sportsmen. Review the rules each time you utilize any of our ranges.
I hope to see you on the grounds, especially during events like our Walk Through the Woods Fun Shoots. Check out the web site for details.
